Hello,
I've macOS Sierra running on Mac-mini ( late 2012). I came across this strange problem this morning. The server has had ethernet connection active and Wi-Fi always been off. All of a sudden, the Wi-Fi was turned on and it won't let me turn it off. It is just freezing. The command line won't work either.
Has anyone seen this before and know how to fix it?

Have you tried using the minus key to remove the wireless entry from Preferences > Network ?
Yes it is indeed weird. The WiFi status "orange" . I deleted and re-added it and it stayed "red". However after reboot, it came back again with "orange"
I also observed that Bluetooth doesn't work anymore. I suspect something funky going on with macOS Sierra.
Anyone having issues with Bluetooth after upgrading to Sierra?

See if resetting the SMC on your Mac helps > Reset the System Management Controller (SMC) on your Mac - Apple Support
I did reset SMC but it didn't help.
I had to reinstall macOS to get rid of the trouble. I suspect the installation of the macOS utilities off the app store after upgrading to macOS store may have caused the trouble.
